What's this all about?

I'm interested in and write about a wide variety of topics - economics, psychology, marketing, music, etc. I prefer writing long articles to short posts and don't update very often.

The Definitive Map of the Vote

Robjert J. Vanderbei created the now famous "Purple Haze" Maps of the Vote, and has done himself one better now creating a county-by-county version. Now you know where your neighbors really stand.

The full 1546x1053 version is available on his website. Election 2004 Results.

Suresh Venkatasubramanian created a cartogram version where the size of each county corresponds to the size of the population.

1690x990 version available on his site The Geomblog: The 'Purple Haze', revisited.
